Dutch tenor Leon van Liere is a regular on the concert and opera stage. He performs solos in various oratorios, from the Evangelists' part in Bach's St. Matthew Passion and St. John Passion to Verdi's Requiem and Britten's Saint Nicholas.

As an opera singer, he performs in opera concerts and recently in productions such as La Révolution de Carmen by Opera2Day (2025), where he sang the role of Le Rafistolé, and as Bob Boles in Peter Grimes, performed by the Wadden Sea (2021). He was also a guest at the NTR Zaterdagmatinee: he sang roles in Die Gezeichneten by Schreker (2019), A Village Romeo and Juliet by Delius (2018) and Simon Boccanegra (2017). He has also appeared in roles such as Ismaele (Nabucco), Don José (Carmen), Tamino (The Magic Flute), Alfredo (La Traviata) and Rodolfo (La Bohème).

During his studies he appeared in a number of productions at the Dutch National Opera Academy.

Leon van Liere studied classical singing with Frans Huijts at the Rotterdam Conservatoire, after which he continued his studies with Raymond Modesti, Paul Triepels, and Brian Masuda. He is currently coached by Marion van den Akker and Rudolf Piernay.
